Traverse City, MI- May 28, 2008 - The newly-formed non-profit Utopia Foundation announced today the creation of its leadoff initiative, the first annual Corporate Leadership and Sustainability Summit (CLASS), a two-day event which will take place in Traverse City, Michigan on October 23-24, 2008. Utopia Foundation has partnered with Northwestern Michigan College and Traverse City Area Chamber to offer CLASS for business leaders and social entrepreneurs to learn practical methods of turning good ideas and intentions into deliverable solutions that support both corporate values and the greater good.
Utopia Foundation has a mission of helping people turn their good intentions into actions by supporting international projects and initiatives that make a deep, long-term and sustainable impact. Based in Traverse City but directing its efforts internationally, Utopia Foundation’s approach will be to partner with individuals, businesses and communities to implement global initiatives to benefit those most in need.
“Utopia Foundation believes that building education and knowledge is critical, and supports the use of creative tools as effective mechanisms to connect people, especially children, with their compassionate positive emotions so they can, in turn, have a healthy positive and inspirational effect on their friends, family, community, nation and world,” stated Paul Sutherland, Utopia Foundation Chairman. “Our ultimate goal is to allow every child to go to bed feeling safe, full, and optimistic about tomorrow.”
