Aaron Skrocki
Emergency Mitigation, Preparedness and Response Program Manager
Catholic Relief Services – South America Zone and Jamaica, Ecuador
Since graduating from Kalamazoo College in 2000, Aaron’s career path – first as a Fulbright Scholar, then with the United Nations World Food Programme and most recently with (CRS) – has focused on one theme: finding a sustainable way to lift people out of poverty. Aaron joined CRS after completing his Master of Public Policy degree at the University of Michigan because he knew that as a large NGO specializing in international development, it would offer him an ideal blend of functional specialization and project variety. In the two and a half years since, he has primarily focused on development challenges within the complex and fast-paced area of emergencies, initially as an International Development Fellow, and now as the CRS South America Emergency Program Manager. In his most recent assignment, he led the CRS response to the Peru earthquake, which provided over $2 million in emergency assistance to more than 10,000 families.
