Evan Thomas Evan is an Aerospace Engineer at the NASA-Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, working in the Life Support and Habitability Systems Branch on water treatment methods for manned Moon and Mars spacecraft. Evan is conducting his Doctoral research in this field through NASA and the University of Colorado at Boulder in Aerospace Engineering Bioastronautics, after completing a BS in Broadcast Journalism and a BS and a MS in Aerospace Engineering in 2006. Evan has been involved with Engineers Without Borders-USA since 2002, leading sustainable development projects in Rwanda and Nepal. These projects include solar powered lighting, computers, biogas generators, rainwater catchment and water treatment. Evan founded the EWB-JSC chapter with other NASA engineers in 2004. Evan has received multiple awards from NASA and EWB for engineering development, including the EWB-USA 2004 Humanitarian Award accepted on behalf of the EWB-CU Rwanda project.
