  • Corporate Leadership and Sustainability Summit
    The first annual Corporate Leadership and Sustainability Summit (CLASS), a two-day event which will take place in Traverse City, MI on October 23-24, 2008. CLASS provides an opportunity for business leaders (both for-profit and non-profit), managers and social entrepreneurs to learn practical methods of turning good ideas and intentions into deliverable solutions that support both corporate values and the greater good. CLASS is timely and relevant to business leaders and managers as they assume roles as bridge-builders in the search for solutions to global economic, social and environmental challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of how best business practices impact future generations.   • International Volunteer Training Initiative

    Utopia Foundation's International Volunteer Training Program, will recruit, inspire, instruct and match volunteers to sustainable projects. This program is especially targeted to connect passionate volunteers with sustainable projects in the world who might not otherwise be able to find each other. The core of the program will be an International Volunteer Training Manual that is robust, current, and based on industry best practices. It will provide:

    1. Key elements that international volunteers need to know to be best prepared to achieve sustainable outcomes through a process of working collaboratively with beneficiaries.
    2. Assistance for the sustainable projects to be able to effectively engage volunteers.

    We are in the initial phase of planning for the creation of the International Volunteer Training Manual. Ultimately, the International Volunteer Training Program will ensure that volunteers and sustainable projects receive education and inspiration to effectively work together to achieve sustainable outcomes
